Kuta - disgusting or the best place to live?
It’s open question 🙂
Prices and 📍 Google Maps links
First thing first - I’m living in Kuta for a long time already. Why?
1. Living
- First of all — it’s cheap. That’s already one strong point. My hotel is only 3M IDR (~180 USD). For this price I get AC, a big bed, a working desk, space for yoga, and of course a private bathroom. Plus a balcony where I can drink coffee and relax.
- It’s just a 1-minute walk from my hotel to the beach. That makes sense.
- In most other areas of Bali, you won’t find the same quality of accommodation and location for this cost.
- If you prefer more comfort and luxury, Kuta has that too — high-end hotels and cozy villas, but for a very different price. Honestly, I don’t understand why I should pay more here when for the same money I could live in much better places. But let’s move to the main point 🙂
2. Beach
Let’s divide it into good things and bad things, but start with facts.
As far as I know (you can check this in Google, I don’t really care), Kuta Beach was one of the first tourist attractions that became popular in the 70s. It’s close to the airport and surrounded by heavy infrastructure — which made it popular and crowded (and that part goes into the “Bad Things” list).
Whether this place is good or bad depends on your needs and preferences. Here are my lists:
